Water Conservation

At Applied Medical, we recognize the importance of water conservation and the challenges associated with water shortages, especially in Southern California where our corporate headquarters are located. As part of our ongoing conservation efforts, we have installed automatic hand-washing machines in our product manufacturing areas and smart irrigation controllers for landscaping throughout our campuses.

Managing Water Usage Through Company Growth

From 2013 to 2019, Applied Medical experienced growth in manufacturing and office space, team members and device production. As we grow in these areas, we continue to manage our water usage through sustainable conservation efforts and initiatives.

Decreasing Water Usage Per Product Produced

As part of our water saving measures, Applied Medical team members have refined manufacturing processes to reduce the amount of water needed to create a single product by 4.3% from 2018 to 2019.

Increasing Efficiency in Water Usage

Applied Medical utilizes a highly efficient water chiller system, which provides up to a 95% reduction in water use compared to traditional cooling towers.

Conserving Water Responsibly

To conserve water, one of our facilities uses an advanced system that utilizes wastewater generated during our manufacturing processes for irrigation purposes.

Utilizing Rainwater Sustainably

At our European headquarters in Amersfoort, Netherlands, Applied Medical uses an underground rainwater infiltration system to temporarily store rainwater, so it can be absorbed into the earth instead of running into and overflowing the sewer. This system also helps reduce the need for irrigation in the immediate area where the infiltration crates are buried.
